The Tamil Association of WA Inc was founded in 1979 and celebrating its 30th Anniversary this year. The Association is the oldest Tamil Association in Western Australia. The Tamil Association of WA, also commonly known as TAWA, actively promotes the Tamil Language and Culture within the Tamil Community in Western Australia and to the larger Western Australian Community.
TAWA promotes harmonious integration of Tamils in their new home, Western Australia.General membership to TAWA is open to all residents of Western Australia with an Tamil ethnic, cultural or language background. Associate membership is open to all with an interest in the aims of the Association.
The TAWA has its home, a leased premise at the Bateman suburb, known as Mandala Hall. The TAWA makes this Hall available for hire to other organisations or individuals.
